WHAT IT IS:
It's a marry of shorts for going surfing in, no surprises there. You can't be a top level brand these days and not have some kind of bells-and-whistles pair of trunks, and the Mirage is a moment ago that. High-tech stretchy fabric, ergo fit, snazzy drawstrings, they've got it all common on.

WHY IT RULES:
Boardshorts these days are amazing, and much improved since only five or six years ago. They're also gimmicky, so what's the Mirage's stock you might ask? The "ES3" fabric from which these particular shorts are made is extremely lightweight and stretchy, denotation there's no limitation when it comes to flexibility (with the exception of your wretched hamstrings and that crick in your back). The construction is also "hydrophobic," meaning it repels water and dries quickly, which is satisfactory. Rip Curl also claims an "Ergo Fit Design," complete with "body-mapped panelling." They say that essence mapping, whatever that actually is, helps reduce the number of seams, which in equip reduces the chance of rash and chafing, which in turn means your boys deter happier, and that's all right by me. Ah, and lest we forget, the drawstring, the pinnacle of all surf body development. In this case the Mirage comes with a silicone-printed rope to help prevent slipping … so ultimately you don't end up back on the beach barefaced, and that's probably a good thing.
