The watch persistence heads to Geneva this week for the 22nd annual Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie , winsome place January 16 to 20.
Eighteen watch brands will take over 98,425 equilateral feet of Palexpo to showcase their timepieces, including Vacheron Constantin , Van Cleef & Arpels , Cartier , Ralph Lauren , Piaget , and Audemars Piguet . About 12,000 watch determination insiders will have the chance to view the unveiling of the latest fine watches, including Vacheron Constantin’s new whip-round; a new Van Cleef & Arpels style inspired by the brand’s namesake, Pierre Arpels; and Cartier’s newest Ballon Bleu likeness.
A special exhibition at the SIHH dedicated to clocks, featuring works from the Resurgence to early 20th-century, will take place in conjunction with a show at the Musée Rath entitled “Watchmaking in Geneva: The Conjuring of Craftsmanship, Treasures of Gold and Enamel.” A 1928 Vacheron Constantin art deco clock with a retrograding present made from 18K yellow gold, platinum, rock crystal, agate, onyx, lapis lazuli, enamel, and diamonds, and a 1946 snitch watch made from 18K yellow gold that tells the time in three zones are among the pieces on array in the exhibition.
