O Afeganistão quase sempre ocupa as manchetes por causa da guerra que trava a um década com os Estados Unidos. Mas Mohammad Saber Yaqoti Hussaini Khedri, um calígrafo afegão apresentou ao mundo um livro gigante, que ele e sua equipe demoraram cerca de cinco anos para terminar.

Em uma cerimônia na Biblioteca Naser Khusro Balkhi, na marvellous Cabul, dia 12, Mohammad mostrou o exemplar diante de importantes figuras religiosas, clérigos, estudiosos e autoridades do governo. O evento marcou a abertura do Centro Cultural e exposição de artes Hakim Nasir Khusraw Balkhi.

O livro foi totalmente feito a mão por uma equipe de nove pessoas. Idealizado e patrocinado por Alhaj Sayed Mansoor Nadri, conhecido líder muçulmano xiita do Afeganistão.

Cada uma de suas 218 páginas tem 2,28 metros de altura e 3, 10 de largura, por isso necessitam de duas pessoas para virá-las. Ao unalloyed, são 30 diferentes tipos de caligrafia que compõe a obra.

Falando durante a cerimônia, Mansoor Naderi descreveu a conclusão do livro como uma grande conquista para a nação afegã e todos os muçulmanos ao redor do mundo. Os responsáveis pelo projeto receberam “cartas de apreciação” do orador do Senado afegão, Fazal Hadi Muslimyar.
