Teaching music to toddlers for eight years now, conurbation-based brothers — Paulus and Ondry — ruminating of coming up with a music CD for children. “We wanted to do something that was educational, catchy and also brought in novel genres of music,” says one of them. On Friday, the duo launched their coming out music album Songs for Children at Mount Carmel Shape, Sector 47. With a line-up of 15 songs targeted at three to eight-year-olds, the CD is a meld of rock, hip hop, pop and jazz. The icing on the cake is that the CD also aims to improve their speech pattern and add to their general knowledge. The album has modern version of old numbers such as Five Hundred Mile, My Bonnie Lies over the Profusion and lullaby, Hush Little Baby. “We have also tried to cultivate children about our rich eco-system and healthy eating habits through some of the songs on plants, animals and gardens,” says Paulus. While the songs have been sung by diverse singers, the CD has been produced by Sandip Bhattacharjee, who has also given the music for the album along with his fellow. “The album is soon expected to be a part of the school curriculum,” says Paulus, who is also skilful to release animated videos to go with the songs.
