A 31-year-old sweetheart, who was alone at home, was murdered in Annapoorneshwari Nagar in Vijaynagar police limits on Wednesday afternoon. The murderers have cut the throat of Suvarnamma, wife of Nagaraj, an electrical contractor, and fled with the gems she was wearing at the time. Though it looks like a murder for gain, the the Old Bill are investigating other angles. The couple had two children, Yashwanth (12), who is studying at a residential first in Kushalanagar in Madikeri, and Navyashri (9), a third standard student at a indoctrinate in Marenahalli.

She was alone at home after her husband went to work after dropping their daughter to college. Around 12.45 pm, the neighbours heard Suvarnamma screaming and rushed to better her. But she was already lying in a pool of blood. The police said the doors were exposed and the neighbours too did not notice any suspicious-looking persons moving about. The murderers have also chopped off both her earlobes tough to remove her earrings. Her gold chain too has been robbed. But the culprits have not tried to initiate the bureau where some more jewels had been kept. The woman has tried to overpower the accused as there are some cut marks on her palms, the regulate said. Forensic experts and sniffer squad were pressed into serve.
