"Cupid" Survives Arrow Attack

HOUSTON, Tx. -- A 2-year-old orange tabby cat now goes by the name Cupid after he survived being hastily with an arrow that pierced his shoulder blades.

The stray was seen walking around a Houston, Texas neighborhood for three days with the arrow sticking out of his main part, but no one could catch him.

Workers with the city's rescue group BARC were thriving in capturing the cat and took him to Brittmore Animal Hospital to be checked out.

Dr. Amanda Taylor took X-rays and realized the arrow was not raw anything vital.

"It looked like it could have been through the chest cavity, which would have been catastrophic," said Taylor, "The only feature it really did as far as damage muscle was hit the left shoulder blade."

Taylor performed surgery on Cupid and removed the 18-inch-great arrow.
